Activity: 0% Longevity: 93% | | Identity Cloaker - does not help to stay anonymous, i was banned again!
i was a member of a forum where I got into a heated debated and ended up getting banned from it by the forum admin for no fault of my own.
so i went and got
ccleaner
Identity Cloaker - gives you proxys and new ip to choose from and promises to keep you anonymous
Everything was o.k for a few days until i all of a sudden was banned again! the forum admin somehow found out i was a previously banned member and ended up banning me again!
What I want to know is
1. I was using ccleaner and Identity Cloaker and would always check the IP before logging into the forum, so how did the forum admin work out he had banned me previously?
2. was it due to the mac address of the pc not being changed or the 'pc name' still being the same?
3. or was it tracking by javascript or web browser tracking or flash cookies?
shall i change the mac address and computer name of the pc use ccleaner and maybe try tor browser, will this help or could the forum admin still work out he's banned me before?
how would you remain a 'new' user untraceable?

It could have been a lot of things. The PC NAME, if unique, could have done it. It might also have to do with your writing style, the time of day of your posts, or a combination of those things.
Forums are a bit different, because the people running them tend to have technical knowledge.

jeffweico - the PC NAME was the same so I'm guessing that could have done it? But I used cleaner before login into that forum and checked the IP ON WHATSMYIP, so can't work out how the forum admin did it?
People running forums do they see
The PC NAME?
The MAC Address?
Could it be the cookies as well?
What info do they see from their end? Quote:

No I've not tried a new user account - how will that make a difference? Quote:

New user account keeps all cookie and related info separate

Chances are it may well have been your IP address.
The forum may well just ban everyone known to be using a proxy IP
You may want to look at flash cookies as well.
New user account and a dongle should see you back on.

i will give that a try, but there must be something like a flash cookie or something that the admin used to ban me the 2nd time even when i used identitiy cloaker, which i assumed would keep me stealth and as a new user Quote:

Surely a proxy IP keeps you stealth if the proxy IP's are UK based? - how does a forum owner work out your using a proxy - do they do some kind of proxy search and get back to your real IP?
With the Flash cookies, can you explain more and what should I be doing with flash cookies? I was using ccleaner assuming it deletes flash cookies?
Flash cookies act like a tracking beacon right? but dont they stay within user accounts or can they infect all user accounts on the pc?
Is a EE mobile dongle good for different IP each time?
What about the 'name' of the pc i'm sure that can also be used to see if it matches a banned user, so that would have to be changed as well? Quote:

A proxy can sometimes be detected which is why they are not great.
Google 'flash cookies' and you will be able to see the control panel for the flash cookies, at which point you can remove them.
EE should be fine.

How do you KNOW they found out it was you? The IP you used may have been blacklisted on that forum so you got canned as spam.

As wtfebay said, PP and eB do actively block IPs if they are suspected...likely this Proxy range of IPs could have been blacklisted.
I don't like any of these IP-masking software...Identity Cloaker, Hidemya$$, etc.
