Default More Chargeback stupidity

I've sold on ebay occassionally and recently I decided to do a few dropship orders since it looked kind of easy. Well on my last order the dropship company sent the wrong product. The result was an angry buyer. I told them to wait for the correct replacement after returning the wrong one. They agreed and within a few days got a chargeback while the replacement was on it's way. Since it's been delivered I have not heard a peep from the customer. I can only guess what has happened here. After I send GC my inadequate tracking info I'm off to close my bank account so they can't take the money from me. It's times like these I wish I had a ING or Wamu account. I assume closing a sub account has no effect on the main bank account in these types of situations. I of course have to go in person for my bank.

How'd you get notified of a chargeback so fast? Banks sit on them for two months before notifying my merchant account provider.

Just got another chargeback as a result of a customer receiving damaged item in the mail. I offered a replacement and the buyer immediately called their CC company for a chargeback the same time they said they were shipping the item back. What the hell is wrong with ppl?

This is not really a paypal issue. It's the fact that buyers have become chargeback happy.

These people are doing it because they can. It's as simple as that. They have nothing to worry about and as a seller, there is nothing we can do but hope that the next customer isn't one of them.

You are right customers don't care about filing chargebacks on you or even lying to get something for free and it is really a shame.

It's all because they don't fear the negative that they know the seller cannot give to them. When sellers could give negs, the buyers were reluctant to try this crap.

And I love when they throw it in your face! Just because your having a bad hair day don't take it out on my feedback and star rating! And I'm personally sick of begging for positive feedback too.

I know what you mean, not to mention paypal with the 21 day hold where it might get release early if a buyer leaves feedback.

We are at their mercy

I never get holds......my one PP account is from 1999. Whenever I call I hear..."Holy Crap you've been with us since the beginning". When I got suspended and everyone and thier mothers opened not recieved disputes against me and sent me into a negative spiral that made me sick to my stomach I was on the phone ASAP. I know everyone hates paypal but they were so helpful and actually told me NOT to add funds yet. So far I've won 2, 2 others are NRU'd (teehee) and with all the info I faxed to them hopefully I'll win the others. Now my original PS account is reinstated and I have all these new accounts.....it's time to have "go have wome fun on ebay!"

the message Paypal sends you once they find out they have to cover the chargeback is kind of funny, they make the email seem so depressing lol

"Yeah we gotta cover the damn chargeback....next time don't be so damn secure" rofl

i truly have come to hate Paypal
