Yes can can see it if they want to. It just takes a simple companies house search. If they do or not is another matter, but when it comes to Amazon I would not be surprised if they did
Amazon UK on sign up will ask for scanned copies of your companies documents, proof of address of the company. This will also request passports of companies directors and a utility bill. By the way a Ltd company will still have taxes to pay and if the company is run in a fraudulent way, i.e. tax avoidance then HMRC can pursue the directors with criminal charges.
Wouldn't link back to you as you open the account with a made up utr BUT that doesn't mean you don't pay tax. It MUST be paid, by giving the made up UTR it just allows you to have multiple accounts
As I said I'm perfectly happy paying tax. I'm not talking about tax avoidance.
My issue is, can I set up a company with myself as director... then put someone else's details (someone who is willing to give ID etc.) as 'person of contact'.

isn't the best way to just proceed with a personal account where you opt to just "sell a little" then you only need to supply 2 forms of proof usually Drivers License/Passport and Utility Bill.
But interesting question by Zaidy88 Id like to know if Amazon do check the UTR number with HMRC.
I would suspect they cannot check a UTR number as this is confidential information at HMRC. I know that the passport database and the driving licence database companies can subscribe to this to verify information. However foreign passports, i.e. outside Spain,Italy,UK,France,Germany I would suspect they have no chance of verifying this is why they ask for scanned copies.
my brother signed up a new AZ account recently ( but NOT AZ in UK rather in U.S.A. ) and for registration inputting your bank acc details, theres a blank space for "Drivers License" (such as entering address / zip / etc. but ALSO "Drivers License" ) never seen this before. did anyone else see this step ?
