Default Have I dropped a clanger?

Hi,

I'm new to this forum ..... I bought the guide a few days ago and found it really easy to read and understand. So .... I went out doing some 'shopping' ..... Visa gift cards (from Morrison) and a couple of mobile phone sims from my local market.

I am fortunate to already have a few different Bank accounts so I Started 'work' ............

When I opened the 1st new paypal account I used a Bank account number that I (forgot) I used before on account that got suspended, so I quickly deleted this account number and tried to attach another account but paypal wont let me do this now .... It just spits out an error saying something wrong at this time please try later ??!!

Should I forget that one even though I deleted the attached account straight away???

Anyhow - the good news is - I opened my second stealth paypal account without a hitch and all appears to well .... I created 2 new UK EB accounts and attached paypal account and both are up and running fine ... albeit with small (£650) limits for each one.

Im tempted to use the chat facility with ebay to request higher limits (rather than ring them directly) ..... but some of the other posts are putting me off doing this .... What's the concensus please??????

Cheers .......

re the acc that you added the bank acc too, prob best to abandon it, however did you mess up the second bank you put in to it as well, I wonder, hard to know if it spat it out without registering it....the next acc you made, did it have these bank acc details, if so hopefully ok...

I let my limits go up naturally with sales, others just call in, but if you call/chat, age the account a bit more first anyway.....

You can raise the selling limits using chat instantly, just say you are a business and require higher limits.

That would depend on whether that account was registered as a business account in the first place, you wouldn't want to, in the early days of running accounts especially, suddenly try to change it a business account if it had been registered as a private one, that wouldn't appear to be a course of action taken by a new seller on ebay which is after all the impression we are all trying to give.

Adding a bank account and removing it after a short period causes these problems and ylu wont be able to add another account to it unless you call paypal to manually add it.

If you want to sell more items the safest option is to stick to the low limits but using multiple accounts where limits will be raised over a period.
Business accounts attract a lot more attention from ebay.

I would just keep calm and not rush.
Convincing Ebay you are a brand new seller means you need to act like one.

If you can get enough listings without needing to change to a business account I would do that if only because it means you won't have a name and address and phone number at the bottom of every listing under your contact details.

It also means the monthly Ebay performance review isn't so stringent.
