Default 2nd Counterfeit notifications for same category. Should I delete and reopen ?

Dear ebay Suspensions forum,

I have an amazon store in Amazon EU with pretty good performance (95~98) and good feedback (4.5/5) with about 30 sells/day.

I received yesterday a counterfeit notification email from amazon saying that one of my product did not respect Intellectual propertie of a Gopro product.
Indeed, I do dropshipping and I was selling a counterfeit product (but I did not know it before but does not matter...).

The problem is this is the 2nd notification I received in this category. They said that a 3rd notification could make me stop selling.

I was wondering if closing my account, wait few weeks and open a new one (with same company and bank account...) was a good idea to reset this counter ? (cause for instant, they did not delete my account).

Thanks for your help guys !

Sorry about my english, I am French

No, this will not help. While you can close an account, they do NOT delete your information. So closing and re-opening an account will NOT get rid of any performance problems, or counterfeit notices.

Selling counterfeits is difficult, especially on Amazon. They are all about the customer experience and have a ZERO TOLERANCE policy for counterfeits. I would recommend that you stop selling the item that is causing this problem. Otherwise, you will burn through many, MANY accounts.

Thanks for your answer Jeff.
Of course, I deleted the problematic products but as I propose 1000s of products, I can not check each one. So it is possible that there is still some counterfeit products (I uploaded a big list of product, not manually )

You don't think that counterfeit notice is only linked to the attached account ?
Secondly, do you think regading their message, my account will be blocked if I receive a new notice in this category or in any category will block it ? (If I stop selling in this category is it ok ?)

Thanks

If you not stop, they might delete your account and you are out of the money

Yeah, knowing first hand and getting suspended for a counterfeit claim, it took 9 months to get my account back. You should go thru your inventory with a fine comb unless you don't mind losing that account. Trust me, I check EVERY product now. SP does NOT play with counterfeit suspensions.

TonyAlmeida brings up a good point. if Amazon believes that you are selling counterfeits goods, your account will be deleted and any money they are holding will be gone forever.

One day you try to log in to your seller account and it tells you the password is invalid. You try again and get the same thing. So, you go ahead and reset your password. The new password does not work either.

From that point, you can call or email them and nobody will give you any information. They will tell you that Seller Performance needs to handle it and that somebody will get back to you, but that never happens. If you push the matter ad call to demand they put you through to someone in Seller Performance, they will tell you that the Seller Performance department does not have phones or does not take calls. While some people have said they got their money by having an attorney write to them, many, many people have lost money that way. One forum member lost over $18k...

Thanks for all your advices !

For instant my account is still fully functional. I will try to check most of my products but for example, I sold a selfie tripod and nothing in its name or in its picture could make me think it was a Gopro tripod copy (and Gopro alert Amazon.. :'( ). I think I need to think about a plan B...

Closing my account now and open a brand new in 1 month might be a mid time solution I think

:'( Sniff

The message I received was prety clear : "it was the second time I received an alert for THIS category". Do you think I will be suspended if I receive a new alert for another category ?

I have had a similar thing happen for older dead stock clothing I have sold. Had one person buy multiples in various sizes likely to resell then falsely complained they were ⊗⊗⊗⊗. I got an A to Z claim and it has completely F'd up my Amazon account. I then got notice days later that my 4 variations of my listings were blocked for "potential copyright issues". I sent them my invoices from 2011 when I purchased this dead stock from an official supplier and never heard back. I personally decided to pull all those items from Amazon which pains me. This person was probably a competitor with other similar items I had sold. Completely f'd me over!

Worst thing was I had sold about 350 of these type of items over the last year and no complaints. I got one person who bought to resell then probably thought he couldn't make money so he lied and complained. And my account is basically ruined. Selling basically only breakeven stuff because I am afraid getting shut down completely with my legit info.

Stop selling phakes.

Don't sell anything that might RESEMBLE phakes.

If you get another counterfeit notice, kiss the account goodbye.

What are you selling? Why has no one asked this question??
You could be selling ⊗⊗⊗⊗. In that case, STOP selling ⊗⊗⊗⊗. I dont want to buy ⊗⊗⊗⊗ **** from you. I dont want to help you sell ⊗⊗⊗⊗ crap.
If you are legit, CREATE A NEW LISTING. You are probably selling in a direct category from one of AMAZONs main sellers like apple They will ALWAYS take sides with a major vendor over you. Does not matter how much you appeal or complain or write on forums about how unfair they were to your account. Fact is: you will be suspended and back here with a post saying how you just got suspended.

This is bad advice.

If Amazon thinks he's selling phakes, it doesn't matter if they are signed off by Obama, his account is going to get SHUT-DOWN.

Better off leaving the product(s) that are causing issues OFF the account. DO NOT SELL ANY PRODUCT ANYONE MIGHT EVEN THINK IS PHAKE!

ONE MORE counterfeit claim and the account is DEAD. Guarantee it.
