Activity: 0% Longevity: 51% | | What to say to eBay..?
I just called eBay for the first time and a grumpy sounding woman answered the phone and I had half a mind to just hang up but for some reason I was hopeful.
She asked what I needed help with and I said that my account is suspended because it is linked to another suspended account. She asked me what the account name is then looked it up and asked me how I knew that person. I said she is my mom (really an old account of mine that I had made using my mom's name) She then told me "It says that your mom has been indefinitely suspended (wouldn't say for WHAT) and that since I am associated with the account I am not welcome to do business with ebay. I asked her very politely if there is anything I can do to get my account reinstated and she rudely said "No, you're finished, you can never use eBay again" and hung up.
What do I do now? Did I just get a bad person? Should I call back right away until I find someone nice? Or all they all gonna be like that?
Any help would be very much appreciated! Thank you!!!

Well...you have 3 options:
1. Call Back and pray you get someone who will reinstate your account (which most likely will not happen)
2. You make Stealth Accounts
3. Roll into a ball and cry forever
I would go with option 2.

Unfortunately, when one member of a household gets banned, all of the accounts on the same IP are usually flagged. If a flagged account is just used for BUYING, it is usually OK (although there ARE EXCEPTIONS to that) but if one of those accounts tries to start SELLING, it gets banned as well.
The reason for this is that eBay has seen that when one account that is banned for something - like selling counterfeits - people will try to move those sales to another account, many times one that is in the same household.
Is it fair? Of course not. But life in not fair in eBayWorld.

I would go with option 2. | 3 is pretty much my solution for every problem in life that I may face. Works wonders.

Under some conditions, feasible to take up the issue with ebay.

True - not a generalized statement, just particular to this OP's situation

Each case presents choices.
Never sensible OR practical to apply blanket statements about what to do or not do.
Those pretending to be in the know tend to espouse otherwise.

To each his own then - take a shot, miss or win - but the clear indication of linking was worrisome

Hi, this also happened to me. I think it's quite unfair that we have to pay for someone else's mistakes. I am in a Uni dorm and I explained to the woman but she just basically was not having any of it! We should start a petition or something
