Thumbs down Lost $2000 in a paypal account

So a while back I lost $2000 in an account. Well not lost but its sitting in the account and i can't touch the money or make any purchases with it my account is just locked. When I try to buy something with it, it says I need to verify my phone number because they think Im an intruder but, I no longer have access to that phone number because stupid me used a text free number and didn't write down the info Do you think text free would give me that number if i contacted them or is there any way to get around this?

If you do contact text free, let us know what the result was, I never tried contacting them or any other App, but curious to know if they would be able to reassign the number if it wasn't already circulated and back in use

This is why it's a bad idea to use these phone services.....At least with a Tracfone you just load them with enough money to keep the phone alive.

MM78 I have learned my lesson on that! I just have to log into my account on the app so i can see what the number is because on my computer it doesn't let me access the info unlike the app

Call PayPal with a call spoofer using the phone # and ask them if they can change it for you because you keep getting an error. Problem solved.

SPOOF CARD works for me...

Caller ID Spoofing, Voice Changing & Call Recording - Prank Calls - SpoofCard

I am NOT affiliated with them, I simply use their services. I do NOT benefit in any way if you decide to use them.

Why do I like them? Because when you purchase a block of minutes, they NEVER EXPIRE! As long as you remember your phone number and a 4 digit pin code (you can make it the same as your ATM card, or you month and year of birth, or whatever) you won't have to worry about email or password issues. And you can refill at any time. I prefer SpoofCard because I do NOT like services that expire, etc. With SpoofCard, there is NO wasted money or wasted minutes.

That is why I specified that I am NOT affiliated with them. I hate it when people recommend a service just because they earn a commission. My recommendations are based ONLY on my experience. I think that it is dishonest to recommend a service when you are earning a commission unless you disclose that up front. But a lot of people don't. So I just wanted it to be clear that I am not benefiting if they decide to sign up for the service.

You can call Paypal with another number. They will have help you verify your account. If they ask you to verify with that number, tell them you got a new number or something. This has happened to me before but i was able to restore my account.
