Ebay test listing

I want to check how the checkout process appears to my customers. Is there any way I can buy my own item? I don't want to use one of my accounts to buy the item listed by another account. I've heard there is test auctions. What is it?

Can anyone recommend?

I personally have never heard of a "Test Auction"...

But couldn't you list a low priced item and have a friend or possibly a neighbor buy it? That way you could see the real results.

I don't know anyone that has an ebay account, unfortunately. I just set up a totally new Ebay account but the zip code is quite close to the other account that has the listed item. I don't want to buy this item that may trigger suspension to the other account

What u can do is do the ebay chat and talk with a customer service rep and ask them if u are allowed to do a test auction and purchase to see the checkout.

On the ebay.co.uk there's a whole section for test listings - don't know if it's the same for you guys in the States?
