Default Browser question

For a P4 notebook (yes, it's old ) on dial-up, which would be the most resource-friendly browser?

I am running IE 8 and it's relatively fine but too many tabs open and the computer overheats.

I do have Firefox installed and Google installed but haven't maximized their use yet.

Any IT tips are appreciated. Thank you.

I would think that Chrome would use the fewest resources. But that is not the best choice for stealth.

Have you considered using it as a Linux machine and using Firefox to save resources? Linux has a MUCH SMALLER footprint and requires far fewer resources than Windows does.

Have you considered getting a system that is not quite so ancient? I am a HUGE FAN of used PC's and laptops for stealth, but at some point, you just have to let them go...

Stick with Firefox for an ancient like you, oops, your machine.
Uninstall chrome as well.
Maybe eVen consider an older version of FF to use.

You need to be as bare as possible to not slow down ......

Man, does that paint an ugly picture now......bare bones

..GB, I do not want to be involved in "bare rsot" and stuff... I just want to give my technical contribution.

There are ways to enhance performances of old computers... don't you know??!?

Of course, I precluded suggesting these.

Animal Welfare issues here.

Sadly, reports of overworked and stressed hamsters being pushed to limits.

Rather tragic.

Blow the dust bunnies off by using canned air or a compressor. Then use a cooling fan to prevent the over heating. Heat kills!

It does not matter which model you are using, try to use firefox VER 20 or less. or safari, you might get better results ( specially with PP )

I object! I object!

There are safety issues here. I need to closely examine the contract of usage of this gear..... Poor wee hamster, so overworked already.

Dear me.

Safari may work better of you se boot camp. That might overload everything. Not sure. I use an really old Toshiba laptop with just bare essentials.
On a side note:
I must question the diet you appear to be giving those lovelies.

They look most malnourished.
