I have searched everything with the words "comcast and ip" in and there is nothing posted that I havnt tried that has worked. I know a bit about networking so I have easily tried the steps people have outlined and they do not work. I have been told by 2 people with IT degrees that the only way to do it with comcast is to leave you modem off sometimes up to 4 days (no way this is possible for me to do just to change an IP address everytime) or they said you have to clone you MAC address in your router. Maybe its my router but I havnt been able to get it to clone the MAC address. Please post info if you have it...
You can change it just leave it off on the day the ip is set to expire. The ip's expires weekly. I change mines all the time by that way.
Is there a set time it will expire that will show up in CMD promt or anywhere else? Its not possible for me to leave it off all day, as I run a website and would not be able to turn off the modem for 24 hours.
oh well you might want to try a different plan because the modem needs to be off for 24 hours
I read that using a proxy server anytime you use ebay will prevent them from ever seeing your actual ip address. Anyone tried this and is this even safe to do when entering passwords, etc? Also, will this cause any red flags in ebay?
