Sounds like it's out of the hands of Ebay since the seller provided tracking and it shows delivered. And from what you're saying, it's RoyalMail's fault. Is there a way to dispute this with RM?

Sounds like a typical scam to be honest. The seller is aware that they cannot track the exact door number, so they ship an empty package to a random person in the same zip code.

You'll need to get proof of the delivery address to show eBay. I'm surprised eBay favored with the seller without having proof of the exact address. If you file a chargeback, you shouldn't have any problem getting your money back as your CC will definitely require a proof of delivery address with your name as the signature.

If paypal/ebay dispute and chargeback all fail then..

Tell ebay and paypal your neighbor down the hall finally figured out the package they received was yours and brought the package over to you and there was a brick in the box and start a new snad claim.

Worth a try if all else fails.

how would sending it to a different address if it's empty, vs sending it empty to the real address, change anything, if the person in either situation, wouldn't get the product?

sometimes the postman leaves your mail at a neighbours address if you are not in to sign for it.

Have you checked with your neighbours?

They sided with them because of the signed signature.

He wouldn't mark it "signed" then. You can open a investigation if thats the case. The postman would have to provide the signature and if he just left it...

Unless he signed it himself.

In the UK if a parcel is left with a neighbour, the neighbour SIGNS for the parcel and then the postman is supposed to put a note in the persons door stating he left it at a specific address.

So yes it still gets signed for regardless.

Basically Ebay will side with the seller if they provided tracking and signature confirmation. I don't know how to break it you other than you are rather screwed and hopefully it wasn't too expensive. This is why I buy from Amazon or a an online warehouse seller like NewEgg.
