Default Washington Mutual savings accounts - exorbitant fees, limitations?

If you chose WaMu, stay with the FREE checking accounts. Just keep applying to open those and not their savings. Ive noticed their checking service has everything FREE. However, their Savings account is where they make their money.

Ive found 4 new fees Ive never even dealt with before by using their Savings accounts. Its quite hard to save money with that type of account. How ironic.

Reasons:

Fees you $10 for making more than 6 transfers in one month
Fees for using other ATMs
Fees for accepting a bank wire
No first overdraft waved on Savings accounts ($39.95 each overdraft)

Its quite ridiculous IMO.

sounds pretty fair to me. it is a SAVINGS account, meaning you're supposed to adding money in there, not soo much taking out. When you take a look, most of those fees deal with taking out money

If you opened a checking along with the savings then do this:
2 times a month to internal transfer from your savings to your checking account.
Then you can withdraw from the checking.

Orion if you have a Chase nearby you you can withdraw from there as well free of charge. Chase ATM's are almost everywhere these days
