New to the website game

Whats up everybody, I am very new to the website designing, and everything related to it. So my situation is this: I need to generate more sale without ebay formy products. The problem is, is that I do not have much time to make the website and all of that, so my route would be to hire someone to design it, and update it for me. So if possible can I get some feedback on all of this. Thanks again for all of the help.

Seems I missed this thread. Anyway, your best bet if you want to start selling right away is to find a pre-built shopping cart you can install, and have someone design graphics for it. You should check out oscommerce for the shopping cart and rent a coder or Elance for the graphics artist.

After that, setup your shop and start marketing it. Fun stuff.

Depends on what you want done. Elance and rent-a-coder people can do anything. Just list a project, wait for the bids to come in and pick the best one.

I guess if you want someone to do all the work, setup a project where you'll need oscommerce installed and designed around your theme. Oscommerce is a free but power software by the way.

Oscommerce is free. To have someone design graphics for you, it would probably be between $250 and $500 depending on quality. My last web design was $600.

Also do i need to add meta tags to each and every page of my website? Or should I just add meta tags to the main page?

Nah, you really don't need meta tags anymore. Google will get what it needs from your content and title.

okay thanx. 1 more question. is it safe to register a domain with anyone? And do you know of anyone that makes domain private for a low fee?

i was looking at this website because they have free private domain with each registration of a domain for $5.99 a year.. What are your thoughts aspkin?
