Default PayPal forced BA refunds

Hey guys,

Question #1
What happens, when PP wants to get their money back, and account has an empty VCC and empty Bank Account attached to it?

1) Are they capable of putting my BA/VCC into negative balance?
2) Will they see BA owner name of this happens?

Question #2
If either VCC / BA has funds, how does it look like from the side of the VCC/BA statement? Is it processed like a bank chargeback, or like a regular CC payment to PayPal, made on a behalf of VCC/BA owner?

1. They can try the VCC and the Bank account. You allow them to do this when you agree to their ToS when you sign up for the account. If there are funds on the VCC they'll be take. Same applies to the Bank account. So - make sure there re no funds in either.
2. No they do not see the bank account holder's name.
3. Pretty sure as a regular payment to paypal.

1) Yes, happened to me couple of times, I went into negative balance despite the fact that my bank not allowing that.

2)No.

3) "Payment to authority Paypal" that's how it looks on my statement.

Be careful! If you have overdraft protection on the bank account - and many banks these days automatically sign you up for that because it generates huge fees - then they COULD take money, resulting in a negative balance that you will owe the bank. You could always dispute the charge, but I do not know what the outcome would be.

Overdraft means if you don't have enough funds in your account when a withdrawal is made on your account then your bank will cover some of the funds owed for you. Then you have to pay them back!

I did NOT know paypal could do this. I have had negative paypal balances before and they never tried taking from my cc or bank.
