Craigslist, land of scammers, spammers, flakes, and general a-holes? You guys sure you want to go there??? Offerup is way better in my opinion, but sadly much less traffic.

So I suck it up and deal with the "Ghastly Trio" of eBay, Amazon and Craigslist...

CL has traffic when I need to sell stuff and tons of desperate people who I can pressure into selling me stuff for cheap and flipping for profit. I hate almost every person I deal with on there, but it's the fastest place to get cash on the spot, especially for people who haven't been able to run stea.lth successfully yet.
Also, I used it to sell expensive products I have like Apple stuff because I refuse to sell that stuff online and get sca.mmed.

Craigslist isn't that bad for BIG items.
I've sold mostly furniture and other big items pretty easy on Craigslist.

I sometimes get free stuff on CL. Some months ago I posted I am in need of free computers to upgrade some parts for a charitable build at my dad's retirement community.
I was able to get 3 full desktops to upgrade 1. The rest of the parts I gave back to CL for free.

anything over $100.00 and big goes on Craigslist first.
Anything that I have hundreds of stock go on craigslist.
If you weed out the buyers, make they work on your schedule and make it clear the price is fairly firm, cash in hand, etc.... it is not too bad.
I met a really cool father and son today buying used archery gear from me. They spent a few hundred bucks and saved at least the same. They were fun. Glad I made time for them today.

Now I have met people who lived a bit far and have collected PayPal and shipped with tracking etc..as if it was a normal paypal transaction. It is probably in in 500+ transactions though.

stay away from:
Certified checks
Money orders (Unless postal and can be cashed in front of buyer/seller/clerk for validation)
Wire / online payments
Credit cards
personal checks.
Cash is king at the end of the day.
And feel free to check bills in front of buyers faces.
