Default Ebay Updates? Rules for Merchant Accounts

Has anyone heard how this will effect people with merchant accounts? Does this mean that ebay will now control the money on your merchant account, or by some means, do account verification for "identity" purposes?

I am praying no.:(

First, I'd like to get off my chest how much I HATE Ebay and Amazon. They are both the most unbelievable legal SCAMS I have ever encountered in my 41 yrs of life!:o

Secondly, if this new 2009 policy change goes through....this will completely moot getting any new accounts if suspended as Ebay will be able to further identify who you are. I sincerely believe they read these sites to establish new ways to boinking us up the ol wazzzoo!

Any thoughts?

I was readingup on the paymate site today and it looks like they may be the best option so far (not yet considering fees). Their payment is similar to google checkout but claim its next business day (we'll see about that).. They dont say anything about them personally sharing your information with ebay but then again that'll probably happen happen when you link them. Any input??

Paymate will be integrated DIRECTLY into eBay's checkout...makes it VERY LIKELY that atleast some of your info would be shared(name and address, im pretty sure would be shared and eBay would have access to it)

Paymate has been known to limit accounts just like PayPal...But im not sure if they will do that with their USA side. Thus turning Paymate into a dead-end just like PayPal.

I imagine they will integrate the same way as ProPay(im not sure to what extent they link).

Either way..their fees are still UNANNOUNCED. Im predicting they will DEFIANTLY be higher than PayPal.

I have been planning on using Paymate come next month. I am in the process of opening a new ebay account. Now if paymate does share our name/info/personal info with ebay I am assuming that will be bad news for us. We will have to register with paymate with our real info/name/banking info.....so how can we work around this to get it to work???

Hopefully they will aloow user-generated invoices. I'll note in my auctions not to pay until they receive email. Most probably wont adhere to it, but its worth a shot

How will that work though? I am sure you will HAVE TO choose a payment option when you (I) register a new account, either paypal, merchant acct, or paymate. If you choose the paymate option it will then have you link your ebay and paymate accounts to work together, from what I have read.....
