Default New eetsy accepts EIN or am I just lucky?

Hey guys, I was kicked off eetsy. And yes, I used direct check out & burned my SSN. Long story short, I have been running stealth on eetsy for over a year without any problems at all (have been using paypal exclusively with a lot less sales unfortunately), still running and want to add new stores. But since now the devil requires all new sign-ups to use DC, I went to IRS for a new EIN to fill in the last 4 digits of SSN. The name (first+last) matches the business name registered for the EIN, the address if f***. It went through. I'm not sure if I was just lucky or they are really accepting it now.
The problem is, the address is f***. So at the end of the year, I'll still have to give them my real address for 1099 if I pass the IRS threadhold. How do you guys deal with the address part?

As long as the IRS has your real address on the EIN to send the mail (which is a no-brainer) don't worry about it. I pay all my taxes by assigning my money under one number, which is legal. Make things simple and talk to a tax professional if you can't get it figured out.

How about eetsy part? I have never had 1099 from them before and have no idea how things are. So can I choose to only get 1099 online to avoid giving them my real banned address? IF they send the form to the ⊗⊗⊗⊗ address, it may be returned to them and they may investigate my account.

I remember eetsy says that once you pass the IRS 200/$20000, they will ask to confirm your address to send 1099. If they accept PO box, I'll just get one at the post office, or a real address PO box if I have to. Just don't want to spend unnecessary money.

Yes, once you reach 200/$20000 threshold, they will send you 1099 to the address in their system. Don't remember if they accept po box or not though. Well, in reality people do move and address do change, but with stealth account, I guess you need to be careful with inconsistency for anything including address you type in.

I think this was just pure luck. It happens sometimes. EIN is definitely NOT accepted normally for etsy. Problem with the phake address is etsy will probably send a 1099 there and the address may also be in the IRS's database depending on how much etsy tells them.

I hit the $20k threshold March of this year. The system then asked to update my info for tax purposes as required by IRS when you break the $20k threshold.
If I remember correctly it asked me for my full address and full ss#. Once I put that in it went thru multiple choice questions ie last address lived at, which address did you live at. Which name do you recognize etc etc.
It was almost like they pulled my credit report and asked questions based on that. Some of the questions were actually hard as they were such old addresses I lived at I couldn't remember.
That being said I cant see how they could do that with EIN....if it works. Some say yes some say no. I suspect there will be a problem when you hit the $20k mark.

The 20K threshold has nothing to do with direct checkout, which is a merchant account and requires SSN and personal info from the get go.

Wow, that is brutal. Did you have EIN in the beginning before you hit 20k mark?
