Default How do you make a listing like this?

I've been watching this guys listing and it seems to never go down. It is a multiple quantity item listing but even when he sells out all of the items the listing still stays up. Whenever i sell out and my listing goes down and i have to put it up again and can't just update the quantity on it.

Anyone have any idea?

"Seems" might be the clue.

Unless you track 24/7, maybe it does go down

Hey GB! long time no talk!

I thought about this too but when i tested this with other auctions and bookmarked them after the quantity is sold out the listing disappears. This one seems to stick around. Another thing, if he sells 50 items and sells out when he updates the quantity again the listing still counts the previous sales as well as the watchers. My listing doesn't seem to do that when i re-list them after i sell out. I lose all my watchers and the record of how many items i sold on that listing and starts over.

He's using the out-of-stock option for GTC. Look at Account -> Site Preferences. It's at the very top.

It's unfortunate someone else beat me to the answer, but I'll second what he said. The "out-of-stock" option has been the greatest eBay feature I've ever discovered. I have several listings (scattered around different accounts) with 500+ watchers and 20,000+ views.

It really helps when you're working with a low-limit account.

Sorry for sounding a bit naive, but how exactly does the out of stock option do and how does it help your listings?

It helps in many ways. Allows u not to reveal how many of the items you actually have for sale (buyers are more inclined to purchase if there's 2 available rather than 20, and they know they can come back & purchase later). Saves on fees (only charged every 30 days instead of having to keep paying to relist). But most importantly it helps with your ranking in search results (by accumulating sales on the same "item"). It also helps me with managing inventory by keeping everything active. With having so many items, I've had times in the past where important items wouldn't be listed for weeks, because somehow they didn't get relisted. Hope this helps. The out of stock option has been an amazing addition for me. It's definitely something everyone should be taking advantage of. It's great for low limit accounts as well by being able to keep ur items in stock without maxing out limits.
