Default Advice needed on Paypal account

Hello, I have a paypal account that's limited with £400 in it, its been limited for around 4 months. Tried copying someones email and sent it to the head office, got a reply on the message center asking me to provide proof of ID and Address and they'll consider letting me withdraw the funds. Basically what Im asking is it worth my while getting ID? I don't really trust paypal to release the funds after providing the ID? Anyone had any joy with a similar situation? Cheers

Won't the funds become accessible after 6 months from last transaction? If so I would wait it out..

PayPal can and do something release funds early

Its not guaranteed though, they may well still ask you to wait out the next 2 months

Bare in mind when you get to the 180 days they may well still ask for ID then though

After 180 days theyre obligated to allow you to withdraw your funds anyway.
As mentioned above they do still sometimes ask for ID but from my experience that's a rare occurrence and will only happen if youve really given them reason to do so. Also, I found that by calling in you can bypass this request - if not with the first rep you get on the phone then the second or third.

It does happen pretty often in the UK.

They will not release the funds until the ID has been approved.

It may be different in the US though

Quick update, got an email back saying they now need me to resolve an issue with another account that I've been linked to, an account I made before purchasing the stealth guide, was linked instantly.

Not these days.

paypal UK changed the game late October 2014. Now they tend to ask for ID even after the initial limitation.
