Default Probably a Noob Question

My apologies if subject was discussed previously. I see on eBay many sellers who seem to dropship from Amazon. And some of these sellers are huge, with thousands of feedbacks and tens of thousands of listings. What I can't understand is how they turn a profit.

Case in point:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pilot-Varsit...-/381276365689

price $15.62

same exact item on Amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00092PRCA

price $12.48

After you deduct eBay/Paypal Fees, profit would be only 83 cents, and that's without possible Amazon tax, which for California (for example) would be 73 cents.

I very well might be missing something obvious so I am quiet curious what you guys think.

Another case in point....

If you add a link to either ebay/amazon

Post a warning to let us know. People may not want to open otherwise..

perhaps that specific item is not bought off amazon and dropshipped on ebay.

I am sure it takes plenty browsing on amazon to find items that will make a profit on ebay and not just the first thing you find.

Why worry about other sellers? Always ways of making profit - some take losses on small stuff for profits on bigger stuff, for example.

Are you taking into account that this person probably has seller discounts/store discounts etc? Also, many of these drop shippers sell small items like that just to keep their numbers up and don't make much on them, but it protects the DSR's.

Also, with drop shipping, sometimes it's the VOLUME that you sell. This particular ebayer you point out, her feedback for the last twelve months is 221229. Even IF she only makes 83 cents on every item, she made $ 183,620. That's not counting all the people that didn't leave feedback.

price is 16.37 now, they use repricing software, has a bit of a delay. As above though, less than half of people generally leave feedback so thats 500k sales at around $1+ profit each, probably $3-400k net profit after everything is fully outsourced other than replying to messages all day. More if they use credit cards, the odd affiliate code and cashback offer
