Default Buyer started a chargeback after losing Paypal dispute

I had this buyer on ebay who opened a Paypal dispute last month because "he did not receive the item" even though the tracking details clearly shows that the package has been delivered to his address. He ended up losing the dispute and today he opened a chargeback with his credit card issuer. The status now shows "Paypal disputing claim". Did anyone experience this before? What are the chances of winning this dispute? I'm afraid Paypal will make me pay for this.

I had experienced this case and I had uploaded shipment documents and shipment receipt to PayPal and then call them. After few days, i won the case.

If you won it once and have all proof of delivery -- you'll win it again.

Chargebacks are difficult to win but you have all the proof so keep at it - hope it works out. Let the forum know

If you have a tracking that shows delivery to his verified address - you should win the case.

I think it would depend a lot on what type of chargeback the buyer started, and what type of card they originally paid with.

Sounds like a determined scammer :(

Like phaz0rz stated it depends on a variety of things.

What kind of charge back is it?

Was it Amex card?

Do you have verifiable tracking?

They can easily Charge Back, if the card issuer was Amex, America Express always sides with the buyers.

majority of credit card companies are successful in helping the buyer get their money back. Paypal doesn't fight hard enough against them imo.

It all depends on the bank that issued the card, THEY have the final say. Now, PayPal MAY decide to eat the loss, they HAVE done that under certain circumstances. But they have also passed the loss on to the seller. So it is hard to say what will happen.

I think the six month rule for chargebacks is ridiculous. I could see 60 or 90 days, but six months is just an open invitation to cardholders to get free stuff.

Chargebacks are not hard to win. I won one last week when I simply provided the tracking number I upload to ebay/paypal. Its my 3rd chargeback included from last year, I won all 3. I just simply upload the tracking number.

Maybe since paypal see's the tracking number providing delivery to the address the buyer provides, I won the chargeback. But maybe paypal also ate up the lose. I dont know since paypal does not provide much info on that.

You have to be careful these days, dont change the address some another address that the buyer messaged you about.

Yes it is ridiculous! On top of that post usps and ebay purge after 90 days so if you search the tracking number on ebay or usps it cant be found. Making the not received case all the more difficult.
