Limitation funds release proof of ID

Long story less long,

One of my accounts was recently limited with some money in it. Eventually got PayPal to agree to release the funds if I provided a proof of ID. I did so in the form of a UK provisional drivers licence. They then said they couldnt accept that, but a birth certificate would do.

- I sent that in

- No reply for a week, then a message saying they couldnt accept that and now needed a picture of my provisional drivers licence with the 'corners showing'

- I did that and now they have changed my limitation rrason to a £1900 limit reach even though i have only sold £900 and are asking for my passport

My question is am I just being messed around with as when I call in almost everytime the person on the other side always has a different reason and request for the limitation, and if i ask for a supervisor they are always 'at lunch'.

It will always be the same with PayPal - each rep seems to come up with a new story based on the history of the account.

You're not going to get to the bottom of it until you have provided them with what they need, in this case a passport.

Birth certificate they say is acceptable but then always want photo ID to accompany it too.

Give them what they want then go from there.

I've given what they wanted not 3 times and now they want the passport, which I'm a bit hesitant to sent as obviously this is a stealth account and not in my name. I have a US and UK passport, which one would you suggest would be less likely to be checked.

I'm in UK btw
