Default Worried about a buyer

So I sold something for under 10 dollars, the only reason that I'm worried is because he's claiming it doesn't work and it does. I only used it once and it's been in the plastic ever since. It could have sold for a lot more, but I wasn't stressing it because I no longer needed it. I get an email saying it wouldn't work and is there anyway I could assist him. I tried my best sending him many links to may or may not be causes and that's when I looked at his last left feedback that scared me. He claimed that didn't work either and the seller left a reply to his negative feedback that he tried everything possible and gave a full refund and the person still left negative. So I'm nervous that even if I refund him he will still leave me my first ever negative, on a 5 month old account and I don't want that. Is there any advice on something I should do or am I just jumping to conclusions? I'm about 99.9% it works and he kept saying how what he was using it on was brand new. If he does leave a negative is there something I could do? ☹️

Could ask him to return it and then test it for yourself? If it works instantly you could speak to ebay and see if you can deduct the postage charge from his refund and then look to sell it on again?

For $10?

Give a refund and move on.

Refund, curse a little under your breath and then move on to make more money

It's not the money or the product I only used once that is brand new, I just don't want negative feedback and I think this because his last feedback was a guy trying "at least he said he did" fully refunded and he got a negative. Like I said, it is popular on eBay and going for 3 times more, it's just not something I sell and I only needed it once to fix my problem with Apple. I list completely different items, I don't want eBay or Paypal thinking I'm trying to sell a knockoff, I got it directly for a onetime personal use.

I'm not worried at all about it, but wouldn't it hurt me if I get a negative?

I guess it shall not be difficult to make eBay remove the negative if you refund the buyer and show you were cooperative.

It happened to me once. Negative removed in 1 day.

Don't forget to block the buyer once you decide on what to do to avoid dealing with his/her shenanigans moving forward

The best advise I would give is speak to him in the best manner possible (like a slave)
Offer him a refund and told him that despite this, you hope to be of further assistance and would be grateful if he can still leave a positive feedback etc.

Block him later! and move on!

If he does leave neg feedback, I am sorry but thats the way ebay works, buyer have the most power! You can only report him and speak to a ebay rep directly and explain the situation, emailing is probably the best, send all relevant screen shot ie. how he leaves feedback for other buyers etc ( i know ebay can see this themselves. but if you actually gather you info and send it to them, it will most likely get more of their attention instead of sending out automated replies.

i hope this helps. This has actually helped me before, so I hope this helps you too! Good luck!

I try not to worry about things beyond ones control. What does worrying do for you?

Thank you for the advice, but I'm in the US and we don't have an email option here, unfortunately. And my stealth is a guy and my phone with the eBay phone number is a basic phone, so I can't use the voice changer app. I've already offered him a refund and he said he didn't want one, I'll give him a few days to see if he can figure out how to get it installed, if he can't I'll apologize and give him a refund then politely ask, if he decides to leave me feedback would he find it in his heart to leave a positive, considering I've done all I can do. Thanks again, you guys really help relieve my stress

This is a whole lot of worry for something that may not happen! If he keeps the item free idk why he would possibly leave neg. Just watch his auctions, make sure he doesn't go to resell it for the 3x more at your expense
