"Seller does not accept this form of payment"

I had a guy from Facebook want to buy one of my items... totally outside of eBay, the item was never listed on eBay, I just happened to have something he needed. He lives in Malaysia. The total was $150; $75 for item $75 for shipping. When he went to pay, it gave him the message:

"Sorry, the recipient doesn't accept this form of payment. Please choose another."

I have taken international payments in the past.. I'm not sure what could be going on?? I asked him to make sure he selects "for goods/services"... what else could it be?

Could be due to currency conversion, but I'm not sure.

Have him send with Western Union instead.

So was it the currency?

I would be VERY surprised if it was - as Paypal would do anything to be the one's to exchange the currency, so they can take a large chunk in commission + fees on top!

No idea, I asked him to send it to another account I created. We'll see if it goes through. I've never seen this happen before; I thought maybe he selected friends/family, but from his screen shot he sent me nothing indicates that to be the case.

If that doesn't work, invoice him from your account and that could help.

I've always thought it's better to do it that way. Looks more professional.
