Default Paymate?

So I see Paymate is now available to use on ebay. Has anyone given it a shot yet? I was thinking about giving it a try. BUT was wondering since we have to use our name and banking info with Paymate can ebay find out this info from them and then we get linked. Dos anyone have any info on how this works using Paymate and if it is a safe payment method to use?

Thanks~

I signed up for it and so far it looks like it's bad cause first off its a PITA to sign up then u got to give them real info even a SSN and then 3rd the kicker u got to be APPROVED by wells fargo bank before u can even use their service.

No wonder ebay accepted them as a safe payment opition cause no ones going to even use it

Default Paymate?

I was going to try to go with paymate, but in the initial setup, it said one requirement was that I needed at least 10 feedback from different buyers, and 98% positive feedback rating as a seller in the previous 6 months. I need it to be able to make sales, so for me, it's a catch 22. How do I get sales without a way for customers to pay?

You just set up a Paypal account to get your first sales. Just sell small trinket things of no value. Then once you have your 10 feedback ditch the Paypal account and go over to Paymate.

When I did have paypal, they screwed me over. Had what little money I had in the account frozen for over a year. I refuse to work with those dirtbags again!!! So, trying to figure out another way around that one. And then, reading on here, I need a credit check to work with paymate? That's the first I heard of that one! I still need to find an alternate way to accept payments. I'm almost tempted to go with c.o.d., but that doesn't really sound like a good way to go, either.
