Any 3rd party payment service eBay approves is crap compared to PayPal...

It's ridiculous.

WOW! This does sound a bit absurd. Making a seller get pre-approved by Wells Fargo is ridiculous.

Although eBay makes it difficult for sellers, they are not stupid in increasing their revenue stream. By only giving people the option of "crappy" payment methods or PayPal, people will demand PayPal. And thus, eBay's revenus stream grows.

You would have thought by now one of these law suits would have stuck. EBay practices kind of fly in the face of anti-trust!

Paymate does not require you to get approved by wells fargo. Where did you read this at?

well it says. # Then click Merchant Details and enter your company and business details for submission to our bank so they can approve your own merchant facility
# Wait a few days for final approval of your merchant facility. I dont know if its by wellsfargo though.

Yes you can signup for an account and then you have to submit even more info to get approved to recive payments(why not just put it all in one application)

I am in the middle of the approval process. Still waiting for Wells Fargo approval to come through. They said 2 days and its day four. Everyone and their mother must have applied.

Hi I was wondering if anyone had success so far with paymate and/or moneybookers, using their own ss to signup, with a past history of being suspended on ebay already?

They're probably individually going through every application individually... and probably overwhelmed by the amount of people trying to get away from paypal lol

I use moneybookers just for the odd payment or when someone wants to pay me by escrow. I was thinking of using them on my site to accept payment as it integrates with my cart fairly well. When i enquired i got told that they hold a 10% rolling reserve for 180 days. I explained that i sell high priced items and this will not be workable. they explained that they will look at what i do and maybe take a little bit of the reserve down. I withdrew the application.
If you sold £10000 worth of goods in a month then £1000 will be held by them. Towards the end of the 180 days they would hold like £6000.

no good to me. My profit margins on many items i sell are about 15-20% if that on some and i have the odd specials that i run to clear stock out.

Im considering nochex..for the people of the UK it might be a good idea to check out securecard.. the rates are as follow
2% on credit cards but thats only if they use the 3d access points for mastercard and visa otherwise it will be 2.5%
debit cards are .35p
no reserve
you need either a business bank account or a soul traders account
£50 set up fee for the 3d access point

i just sent my information in to paymate. waiting on wells fargo as well. im interested in the sharing of information.

however, i did a test on the ebay account with using paymate ONLY. i unchecked paypal after linking.

If you try to do a 24 hour auction or buy it now. Ebay will say that they require paypal as your payment processor....why I dunno. When I do an auction style listing 3-7 dayer it works fine. No paypal.. just a heads up. btw, My application is still being processes (visa form for paymate) and it still allowed me to list my item. So if that doesn't reach me in time to say i'm approved i'm going to use my CCNOW to send an invoice to accept payments :D...at least i hope.
