Default TD Bank

Anyone know if TD is ok with mismatched names (Name on PayPal is diff than my real one) and also its really simple to open accounts with them, will having like 10 accounts with them screw me over? (Logic would say yes but maybe they dont pay attention). Thanks people.

Unless you go into a branch and open them, they will close them eventually. I had a big issue with them.

TD Canada has been good for my accounts but TD in the USA has been causing troubles for quite a few users with mismatched names - best to go for other banks with less headache for mismatched names: Bank of America, Chase, and the like - even little credit unions in your area kvncsta

TD business is OK but tons of headaches as a bank in general. Personal accounts will get closed. They also doc check systems for closing accounts, something somewhat unheard of without being under a fraud investigation.

Best banks are the small local banks and credit unions. You will not find a single thread about a small bank or credit union closing accounts for deposits being to big or mismatched names or rapid withdrawals.

I only use them for trading personally but enough reports on the forum suggest TD Bank doesn't like mismatch names.

I wonder if it would be different for business accounts (PayPal business account) because deposits come in under the business name.

Business is OK, but other problems come up for small sellers. Example, built it required $5000.00 overdraft protection. You can literally over draw $.01 at the ATM and they charge you $120.00 you can go to the ATM and take out a NEGATIVE $5000.00 They CAN NOT turn off the overdraft protection.

TD business service is the worst in the industry. You can call and wait hours on hold for simple things such as unlocking your online banking or app. The return call service oftentimes is a day or two later....

Most branches only have ONE representative that can assist business accounts so sometimes you wait forever and a day going into the branch if you need service.

On new accounts they will not release 100% of the funds for 14 days. You get a small amount right away, then half a few days later.

TD is one of the banks that make you request a cash withdrawal over $5000.00 three days in advance.

But yes, mismatched names are OK for TD business accounts as of last year anyways. I closed all my accounts last October and do not plan to ever go back.
