Arrow We noticed unusual activity in your PayPal account

When I logged into my Paypal earlier I received the following message as soon as I signed in...

Quote:
We’re concerned about potential unauthorized activity

After you confirm your identity, we’ll walk you through steps to make your account more secure.

Just to be safe, we want to make sure that this is your account.

Continue
When I click continue the following page shows up and reads...

Quote:
Sorry, we can't move forward
We couldn't verify your account.

If you need help, you can send us an email or call.
Anybody find a solution for this?

Well, quite straightforward instructions - call or write them. May be caused by wrong IP, cookies from another PP, or account just never used for a long time.

The most likely scenario is that they noticed you logged on from a different location than you normally do. If this is the case, it is a matter of changing your password. It CAN be other things but this is the one that comes up most often. Or, it could even be that someone else tried to log on to your account.

But you will never know until you call them.

Try to leave the account for 3-4 days and then come back to it using your original IP, see if that works.

So I went ahead and called and they manually sent me a link to reset my password.

I reset it and it looks like my account is fine.

Hopefully this thread can help someone in the future.

I got a similar problem on one of my stealth accounts

We want to be sure you're the owner of this account
We didn't recognise a device or location recently logged in from, so we'd like to confirm you own this account."


*Even though I am using everything the same as the past 2 years

I was randomly able to login in as normal + withdraw, then an hour later I'm back to getting this message.

It seems like a bug / glitch, hopefully it goes away again because it's damn annoying.


Some of the steps I have taken include:
*Cleared cookies, browser history
*Changed password
*Used different browsers

Doesnt sound like the same problem that OP had.
If it continues you might have to call paypal as well to figure it out. Id wait a few days though to see if this is a glitch on their end.
