Default Ghostsurf and other ip hiding programs

I have a trail version of ghostsurf platium which uses a proxy to hide my true ip. will ebay be able to detect this and red flag my account? if i go to a site like Your IP Address is 74.53.11.194 while running the program it puts my loction as Dallas where as i am actually in the uk, will ebay see this ⊗⊗⊗⊗ ip address as suspect due to being reg. on ebay.co.uk? Thanks

I am guessing that at the very least it will put you under a microscope. Using it at Paypal is almost certain to get your account limited or frozen and this is actually a good thing because it keeps people from halfway around the world hacking your account and draining your money.
I have seen a couple of these types of programs, but from what I can tell, they just randomly pick IPs from all over the world. It would be nice if they could let you at least select a region.
I am thinking that if you register an account with ebay you would have to do so with an IP from a country that you are claiming to be in.

That thing is if you use a proxy to log in and upload a gang of expensive items9auctions) then yes ebay probably will suspend your account and thats only for your own protection.

Now if your logging in just to check email and reply to emails then I think you should be okay.

I use proxies to access ebay every now and them and nothing has ever happen to me

I need a good proxy for international trading. The proxy needs to state that I'm in the country where I'm registered. The items will ship from a warehouse outside the country of registration. And it needs to be fairly ebay user friendly (ie not likely to be red flagged by ebay). I've been looking into AOL for this, but it appears I have no control on the location and I really need that.

This is totally on the up and up, just for the expansion of my international buyer base.

Anyone have some good suggestions to try?

Just for the heck of it I ran Hide IP and then went to open IE and my provider wouldn't let me in because because it didn't recognize the IP address, obviously works, but won't do me any good like this. I think if you open Hide IP after IE it might work. Problem with EB is that the program randomly generates the addresses from all over the world which won't eork for EB.
If you had some patience you could keep generating new addresses until you hit the country that you need....I haven't checked it out enough to see if you can actually select the country or if it is entirely random.
Maybe someone else knows

Thanks for the information, but it doesn't sound like it would work for what I'm wanting. I need something that is fairly ebay-proof that consistently shows another region. A good price (or free) is a plus too.

I haven't found a program that lets you choose where the ⊗⊗⊗⊗ IP address is coming from...the ones that I have seen are totally random.
I have heard that EB watches the AOL accounts more closely because the IP changes constantly (just the way AOL works) but that is a red flag to them.

Certainly if you register in Dallas, login next time from China and from Brazil after that, I don't think your account would last too long.

Yes that's exactly my concern. I know that such programs (or providers) exist as I've heard them mentioned, but this was only in passing and randomly. I recall that FB said something about it at one point but haven't seen him around lately. It would be nice to get some solid information on this. Interesting information on the AOL, but it's the best option I have at this time until a permanent solution can be found.

mikey, for what it's worth (and I'm not sure it's much) ghostsurf was pointed out in particular to be a red flag for ebay. Of course, this is also the same source that redflagged mozilla firefox too, and I've had no problems with them. So take that with a grain of salt.

As long as it doesn't cycle back through-- I don't see why not.
