Paypal on newly migrated website. Will it work?
Hey guys,
I have a website on the Lemonstand platform that is now long in the tooth and the Lemonstand (V1 not cloud) platform is no longer supported with security fixes.
Some little scrote somewhere keeps gaining access to the backend and F*ing around with it so as a matter of urgency I am migrating it all over to Shopify.
On my Lemonstand site, I have been asked previously by PP to remove any trace of them due to the items being sold which I duly did - Thankfully I was spared the paypal account which is still in use today.
Lemonstand was linked to my paypal account via a token, and shopify links to paypal only by an email address I believe.
When I opened the Shopify shop I used an email that I made up (not related to my website eg - a gmail email address rather than XXXXXX@mydomain.com) so any payments via paypal would be sent to an email that was not previously used with paypal. I have added this email to my paypal wallet.
It wouldn't be the end of the world if it ended this paypal account so I'm willing to test it out unless someone can tell me I shouldn't do it!
Will this work? Will paypal know what the website domain is if the payment is coming through Shopify? Does anyone have any experience of this?
Thanks in advance.
