Default Anyone had to verify after the 1st time

Just wondering out of the 30 accounts I have I have yet to re-verify a number. Mine are all only 3-5 months old. I have verified the number when setting up the seller account. Then I USUALLY have to verifiy it again on the 1st listing but as of yet have never had to re verify it again. What time frame are they using to re verify if anyone knows. If its so long It would make since to ditch the numbers then get a new one when they ask? Why keep paying every mo. if you dont need it.

I have never had to receive another phone call after the 1st one when I went to list the 1st item.

Default calls

Ive never had a call from ebay, ever in years.

ive only had to reverify tel number when selling, if I swapped PCs or user screen and ebay didnt recognise my usual location.

so this just shows you cant use multiple accounts under same user, as ebay
can detect that.

I am in Canada so I am not sure if it's different, but when they ask me for phone verification they had the option to ebay recognize the current location after entering the pin. That time I chose "no" and a few days later it ask me again. Then I chose yes and it's been a few months and they haven't asked yet.

Default phone verify

Pinkharo
Thanks for your reply in the Canada Discussion thread. I appreciate it.
Re phone verify, be careful if your sales are high. In the past I have had an ebay account rep call just to offer help if I needed it and to let me know I now had an account rep to turn to for advice and support. Alternately, I also had paypal call once when I ended up with 2 disputes in a row, one my fault and one not.

Here is what I have learned.....
When you turn a Buyer account into a Seller account you receive a phone call for the 4 digit code.
We all know this.
BUT.........
If you turned that buyer account into a seller account and let it sit and not sell anything, eBay will do the call & Code all over again.

I am not sure of the time span between these steps:
the original call & code
- not selling on dormant account
- new call & code.

That is what I have figured out and why you might have to do the call & code all over again.
If you are required to to the call & code all over again here are the steps I used.
Get your new Vnumber (or what ever you use).
Log into your eBay account.
Update your personal information with the new Vnumber (or what ever you use).
Then do the call & code.
List something for sell something on that account.

Yes, that's why the numbers should be kept active during the time when you are selling. It's fine if no one picks up as long as it's not out of service. I think they will email you too if the call was important or something but haven't had these problems in ages.

That's absolutely right. SWIM had an account for a year and had to use the phone verification. So it's not just new accounts, dormant accts, different location all that has to be re-verified.

Who or what is swim. Are you saying hes account was somewhat active and they called to reverify? I sell on each account 1 or 2 times a month only up to 8 VERO (big time vero items).

But if that is what your saying. I think once a year would be acceptable for a phone nuber change.

Its only 5-3 bucks each account so no big deal either way but 40-60 bucks times 30 accounts at the moment does add up.

So do you keep the numbers or let them die untill its requested again????

Can not answer for HWGA, but I keep phone numbers going while accounts are 'going'. Lowers the chances of nasties in the email:( When the accounts are
made the costs of phone numbers were factored into their creation. Can not
quite understand not having a phone number available at all times.

AAAAH nasties in the mail!!!! Ok I get it, if they were to call and the numbers are down the letter is sent?????? That would make it nessasary to keep them as I am in the more accounts less sales mode. 30 accts with 8 sales a month on each acct. Its been working for about 4 months now. Im paranoid to sell more than that. Im selling vero items. I would hate for an acct to go down. But Im ready for it. Going to get another 30 accts. NetVibes is a necessary thing to have. I have 3 of those for all my selling and "buying accounts"

Default Do I need to keep the phone number after I verify my eBay account with it?

I am with Vonage.ca so getting a virtual phone number to direct to my main # is simple. However it costs $7.99 CAD per month per number. I plan to use many accounts so I will need many numbers. i.e. 10 accounts will cost me $80/month. Do I really need to keep the number active after I am done with eBay verification?

If you're talking about makng back-up accounts then I would just add your virtual nunber to the account when your ready to start selling on them.

Offer help yeah right!!!!! ebay was begin nosiey wanting to verfiy what you where saleing and if it was legit. Love how ebay/paypal always hides there words in sheeps clothing.

And heres a simple solution to the phone verfiy if u dont want to verfiy the phone pin based a 2nd time then just keep it as a buyers account till your ready to use it then turn it into a sellers account.

I always get the free trial forwarding numbers use them to setup the accounts and let the trial run out. I've had an email before saying I needed to up date my phone number because the one one file wasn't any good. forgot what it actually said but it didn't suspend my account or anything. so why pay for a phone number when you can get free ones
