Default JUST BEEN LIMITED..(long rant)

Hey. I've just had an account limited (maybe 2), and I really can't figure out why. I opened a premier account, used a simon gift card to confirm it (these still work right?), and did the 2 small deposits into my wamu account to verify it. The account has stealth name, address, phone info. I just received my first payment into the account ($300), and received an email in under 15 mins, letting me know that the account was limited. I hadn't even attempted to withdraw anything yet.

The only thing that I could think of, was that the account was new (about 1 month old), and that I had recently added a new email account to it, as primary. Would that be enough to get the limitation?

Once I saw that this account had been limited, I decided to verify/confirm another account that I had opened as premier 2 months ago, but had yet to add a credit card or bank account to. I was going to use this second account to receive some other payments that I had intended to put through the one that was just limited. As soon as I entered the bank routing and account number for the second account, it said that I was unable to add a bank account, because the account was limited!

Now, before I even logged into the second account, I switched to a wifi signal that I had never used before, so I can't imagine it being my IP that linked the second account to one that was previously limited. It also had never had a single transaction done on it, so there were obviously no unresolved issues with it. How/why do you think this second account was limited? Also, I never received any notification via email that the account was limited. It doesn't say anywhere in the account, that it is limited. It only said that it is limited, when I attempted to add a bank account to it. I can't make sense of it. Clearly I messed up somewhere tho. Any insight is appreciated

$300 as your first payment would explain it, I refrain from selling over $100 for some time, until I build up rep a bit.

What was the item you sold for $300 ? That and/or the amount probably triggered it - if you are 100% positive there is no link to your other closed accounts.

What are they asking for now to get re-instated ? If they are only asking for 1 or 2 items (like to verify address, enter shipping info, and/or invoice) you may be ok - if they are asking for everything including social you are probably done and should just move on to a new account.

I'm certain that there were no cookies/flash objects that could have linked me, because I used a library computer. The item I sold for $300, was a pair of designer shoes. I didn't think what the item was would matter, as the sale was handled outside of ebay anyway. At this point, I think it was just too large of a transaction on too new of an account. I've more or less decided to abandon it. I hate losing $ like that, but it was most likely my impatience with the account, that led me to the limitation. I should have known better.

Really what made this time so strange, was that there were no disputes on the account, and they asked for more info than ever before to get reinstated (SSN, SHIPPING INFO, SUPPLIER INFO, VERIFY ADDRESS, ETC). Either way, I'm done with it. Hopefully in 180 days they donate the money to a good cause lol.

Sighs paypal has changed its parameters with premier/business accounts in the past six weeks. Sadly you are not the first one I have heard who has had an account become limited b4 it has even had a chance to work.
Here's one thread that will give you some info

Why can't you withdraw the funds to a bank after the 180 days?

I will try to withdraw the funds to my bank when the 180 days is up, but I'm honestly quite skeptical of that going smoothly. I've read all of the threads, saying that paypal will allow it after 180 days, but I've also read numerous accounts of people being permanently locked out. I've been getting the impression that paypal is cracking down on suspected stealth accounts recently, so I'm just not placing too much faith on their 180 day release policy. I'd rather assume its gone and be pleasantly surprised, then count the days, and then be crushed when it isn't released for some reason.

Also lakeman...I don't know if you saw my other thread about the PP/money order scenario, but I was able to successfully use the method you suggested today. Many thanks!

They can't keep your money after the 180 days, I've always recieved mine.

I'm glad you were able to get the money by money orders!

I received mine after 180 days. You just need to make sure you have everything set up. They will contact you and ask you how you would like your payment sent. Check, direct deposit, etc.
