Activity: 20% Longevity: 58% | | Do you make more money than a college graduate?
As stated above, have any of you here surpassed the annual amount a successful college graduate makes annually?
By far, one of the biggest advantages to going to college is that you’ll be qualified for more high-paying jobs in most fields. While this doesn’t always hold true, college grads do, on average, make a lot more money than workers who just have a high school diploma. In fact, according to the U.S. Census Bureau, the annual salary average differences between educational levels is staggering:
High school drop outs: $18,734
High school graduates: $27,915
College grads (with a bachelor’s degree): $51,206
Advanced degree holders: $74,602
That means, over the course or working 40 years, someone with a high school diploma will make $1,116,600 while someone with a bachelor’s degree will make $2,048,204. That’s nearly a million dollars more! Keep in mind also that these statistics are as of 2004.

I am a drop out but I do 15 peoples work all by myself so I get 15x 1 persons wage so even as a drop out I make more than advanced degree holders.
Also, I get to have an easy life.
I am sitting here in bed working/earning with a can of beer and a joint in one hand and laptop in other hand whilst watching tv
Ironically, wolf of wall st. is on tv right now.

What are you making?
It is akin to being mosey if you can not be bothered to share your own experiences. |

Your 40 year calculations are grossly underestimated as salaries will be far higher in 40 years time.

I'm a college graduate and I learned the in's and out's of e-commerce in school. With that being said though, I'm making a lot more working for myself than I would be making if I were working for Cisco or Google.

No, prior to typing this I was fully aware of what you meant, but I'd like for you to be more humble.

I'm saying having a salary of $10,000 a month in 2066 is not necessarily more than getting paid $1000 a month in 2016, when both amounts are converted into 2016 dollars by factoring in inflation rates incurred over the next 50 years.
(This an arbitrary example with arbitrary rates used)

I think all business owners can easily far and away exceed a wage earner. This thread is just ridiculous. Nearly impossible for a wage earner to get ahead in life and escape the rate race. A higher wage earner as a vast majority rule just have higher expenses and debt. The only option for a wage earner to escape the round and round tail chase of money is to invest VERY AGGRESSIVELY, start a business, have a rich uncle who passes on inheritance or win the lottery. LOL
