I worked it up to Top Rated Seller and I want to keep selling on it, but I had a problem with the PayPal side of it.
My question is: Can I just continue to use the eBay account and only sell things local pickup?? And can I just get a merchant account and process my own credit card payments??
The complete step-by-step guide to get back to selling today!
You will find a lot of buyers are hesitant to pay through alternative payments processes online though
I understand that but for "local pickup" big items that aren't really shippable anyways. I find this easier and keeps the account going. I usually require cash for any local p/u sales.
Also I sell commercial stuff for businesses. So hopefully they won't mind and know the security they have already with using a CC.
Who is the best merchant to process through?
I still plan to operate other accts in my normal fashion. Just don't really want this one going to waste.
When you lose the PP for all intents and purposes the EB account is toast, except for buying.
I sell a lot of obscure industrial business related stuff. It won't ever move listed for FREE on craigslist. I need the ebay exposure where millions come to buy this type of stuff.
Also who likes craigslist? I think its great for finding stuff to buy, but not for selling. Everyone wants things way too cheap!
Fair enough, but EB isn't going to let you sell without a way to charge you back if a buyer complains and wants their money back, even if they paid via credit card or cash, and eventually somebody is going to scam you and the account is going to be closed down.
