Default VAT with Stealth but wait.....

Hey guys,

The other day i was just searching around amazon and i came accross an

account, these guys had a registered VAT number and all to the address on the

account, i did some further snooping and found out they are based in China but

are using a UK virtual address. so they are paying for a service to use the

services address and registering a legal UK company in it. am i getting this right?

Could we all not do this is we got a successful strong stealth account?

Thanks Guys!

These Chinese register by vat when HRMC force them to do this or amazon suspend their account for vat issue.

I know recently AZ pushing these seller to register for VAT

Companies house would display the name on their public database.

You wont be able to register a company, nor rent an office address using an alteration of your name as there are strict KYC checks involved.

Really you want to stick to trading under the VAT threshold on a stealth account

Agreed.

UK accounts must definitely stay under the annual 83,000GBP VAT threshold limits as its not possible to add VAT information for a stealth account, as they can verify VAT information.

Not agree

if someone running 2 accounts, each account let say doing 70K so that total 140K he need to register for VAT

does not matter how much accounts running this will not chnage VAT issue

in reality seller doing much over 83K without VAT

Do you mean he should do the right thing and register for VAT

or are you talking about amazon requesting VAT?

Amazon wouldn't know 2 Amazon Stealth accounts belong to the same person so they can't combine such totals

Off course not to submit VAT number to AZ as they will suspend the account when cross check

but if his turnover over the limit then register for vat does not matter if sale is spread to many accounts as money coming in to his bank account

There are 2 different issues here

For an Amazon Stealth account you want to avoid going over the VAT threshold so that the VAT number is not required for Amazon

For a persons own individual accounting purposes if someone goes over the VAT threshold when all sales across all accounts are taken into account then they must become VAT registered. It is just important to not input that TAX number into Amazon

I think he means that the VAT threshold doesn't matter BUT (as others are saying in a different way) you need to spread things over more than one account.

Basically keep each of your (stealth) accounts BELOW the VAT threshold

Added by edit: But then again I am probably wrong except for the last part

Oh I see the misunderstanding now. You thought I was talking about Bank Accounts here:

Agreed.

UK accounts must definitely stay under the annual 83,000GBP VAT threshold limits as its not possible to add VAT information for a stealth account, as they can verify VAT information.

----

That was meant to say UK Amazon accounts. All good
