Third Party Checks

PayPal is now requiring phone verification when withdrawing to banks (at least for my accounts). Problem is I dont have access to those numbers anymore. So I requested a check to be sent to me. Only problem is there is a different name than my own on the PayPal account, so the check will have a different name on it.

Anyone know which banks accept third party checks via ATM deposit or Mobile Deposit? I read on a thread that any bank that accepts PayPal transfers which have different names would work fine with checks too but I wanted to make sure.

ALL BANKS that accept mismatched name deposits accept mismatched name deposits. If it is under $1500 you can use the mobile app and create a check in the correct name if you chose to.

Just had the check "endorsed" over to me and deposited into my bank via mobile deposit. Suntrust. Will let you know of any problems. If this works fine, checks in the mail could be better than opening 50 bank accounts!

Just withdraw a lower amount under $250 and try to deposit in your bank account..if it goes through withdraw again or use multiple bank accounts to spread the check deposits

I dont have any issues with 3rd party checks going into the ATM but I only use a business bank account for that. I dont like using personal accounts for 3rd party, the bank doesnt like 3rd party checks.

Interesting, I would agree that a business account seems safer to withdraw a 3rd party check.

You can probably get away with using an individual account too, but always better to be on the safe side.

I have passed few third party checks with BoA mobile app - Harris as well - great apps

FYI:

Very few banks KNOWINGLY accept 3rd party checks any more because of a high fraud rate.

The only reason they're accepted at an ATM or through a phone scan is because a they're entirely electronically processed.

If the check is good and clears no human ever sees it.

Try it some time at the counter inside a branch and see what happens. :(
