chargebacks.... just a big scam by paypal?
anyone else find it odd they don't allow you to fight the chargeback directly with the card company? it's so easy for paypal to lie and say "oh you lost the case" and take the money when you really won.
I've had 2 chargeback cases:
(1) $700 jeans buyer claimed was used not new (which it was really used lol) he was an AX black card holder (probably worst company to fight a chargeback), but my account was already suspended and I changed my bank/card so I didn't care, I just said "listing says new" and surprising I won.
(2) Buyer bought $1200 complains didn't like how short the fit was so I won eBay case, but he did chargeback and won chargeback. He did return item when listing said no returns, maybe that's why he won?
But paypal told me they fought the case but the card issuer decided with the card holder. I contacted the buyer who sent me a photo of the letter his card issuer gave him which basically said paypal agreed the chargeback was valid, and that paypal was no longer disputing it and refunding them the money.
And when i called the card company (i don't have the card number so i was given general info) but the agent said paypal rarely fights these and they can't because they'll be fined. So I guess I won the first case for $700 because my account was suspended so there was a big risk paypal wouldn't recover the funds from me so they fought it. The second case, I received other payments so it brought me to a positive balance and since paypal saw I already covered the negative balance and they'll be fined if they fight too many chargebacks, they didn't even bother.
Thoughts?
