Default XP Network Firewall 24vc

Ok.. Trying to keep my Q simple..

I usually use Win7. I switched to XP in VM to run smoother.
It's easy to configure network to public/home in Win7 but I can't figure it out in XP.
I'm using 24vc and I would like to set up firewall to block firefox when connection is down.

How do I make networks public/work/home in WinXP? Can't figure it out..

Or, is it crucial to do the firewall? How reliable is 24vc connection? and how big of a deal is it to leak IP?

Unfortunately in XP its not possible to setup firewall rules like in 7 but you can easily just use software to automatically close the browser if the VPN connections cuts off, for whatever reason

A few good ones are vpncheck pro & VPN watcher / and if you google around there's a bunch of them out there / they work great for XP

I used Komodo firewall on XP as it's free and does the job.

FWIW, 24vc's connections are fairly reliable in my experience. I have 11 or 12 connections and I've only ever had to reach out to those guys once or twice. I connect to all my VPNs over wifi usually, so that's what causes any connection issues I experience. If you're on a wired connection you'll probably never have any issues with 24vc.
