Default How long until cancelled payments are credited to the cards they're withdrawn from?

Hey. I just canceled a PP payment that was made using funds from a simon GC, due to suspicions I had about the sellers legitimacy. This was a relatively large purchase from me ($450), so I would like the funds returned ASAP. My paypal details show the payment as cancelled, and say that the funds were sent back to the card, but when I check my balance on the card online, they do not show up as returned. Does anyone know how long it should take for them to actually be returned to the card? I have now found a legit seller for the same item, but I don't have the $ to pay for it without the money that is now held in transit. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!

Does it show up as pending on your card? If it is was really canceled like paypal shows, then it will probably take a couple days to return to the card. I would contact the first seller and see what's going on before you go to a new one.

^^^yaw is correct. At least 72 hours to be credited to the account. If you are worried, check with the cc company for eta.

man....3-5 days hurts. Trying to save a few bucks, and choosing to deal with the questionable first seller was a horrible choice =( I hope to never come across another non-registered PP user again.

Bummer. Speaking for myself, the longest it has taken for a credit to show back up on my card is 28 hours. Never had it be less than 24 hours.

The payment I cancelled is back on my card already! I didn't even check until just now after seeing the last post indicating that 24 hours may be a possible time frame, so I'm not sure exactly when it posted. I'm just happy it wasn't 5 days.

The seller that I cancelled the payment to, seems to be working out the kinks with his paypal account (it was listed as non-registered), so I think I'll be able to resend the payment (to a verified/confirmed user this time) within the next day or two. I'm happy the process was so quick. Score 1 for paypal.

What?!?! I didn't do it, whatever it was...

No, really, now. If you've ever bummed-over wondering when a payment or credit would show up, and you were in a pinch for a penny, you'd relate to that.

I could put myself in those other shoes, and see myself saying 'f' it! I'll just wait till next week. And then find out from somebody else that maybe I should just give it a chance. So, being led to optimism, and finding out the doom and gloom wasn't really worth sweating over - well, that would make my day.

I'm happy for anyone who gets the loot that is rightfully theirs. The sooner, the better. What's wrong with being happy?

I once asked PayPal to reverse $500 payment I sent to a scammer and they did, but I had to call few times and took them almost two weeks before the money was back for me to use in my account. And I thought I'd never see this $500 again.....Have to give them credit for that .:D
