Re: How to check total gross for year?
Compared to credit cards, bank accounts, and all other financial services, PP's fees are extremely high, and are only tolerated by so many because of the convenience. Many times it has shocked me how hard they make it to search my history, find totals, and much other info, even though they are not shy when it comes to taking their cut. I think it has something to do with the way Ebay hides the fee information (to a degree) while you're listing your item so as not to discourage you from using their service.
Even if they are going to keep me from being able to see the total in PP fees I paid in the last 180 days so I don't pop a blood vessel, the least they could do is make it easier to see my history, totals, and so on.
Anyway, what I do when I really need to find the total in Paypal is to search the type of transactions (like, as in "payments received") and then I have 2 or 3 or 12 pages of transactions. Then I get out my iPhone and open Google's search, and by voice (rather than typing) say "forty seven dollars plus fifty two dollars plus thirty nine dollars....." and read down the list, being sure to keep an eye on my phone that it's still taking my commands. once I get to the end of the page, I search the answer with Google and write down the total. I use Google as a voice operated calculator because PP doesn't have the sense or concern for their customer to put in the most basic searches possible.
Anyway, maybe some people on here are good enough with the one handed typing on a calculator pad, but I'm not, so I hope this helps. If anyone has a better way, I'd love to know it. This is just how I personally deal with the problem you described.
