Default Russian PayPal and auto-conversion!?

Hi everybody,

On Russian PayPal when you receive funds in USD or in any other currency, it is automatically converted into Ruble and visible on Ruble balance. On Turkish PayPal the funds used to be saved in the same currency as it is received till you confirm the conversion rates while withdrawing.

This auto-conversion causes huge losses because of the PayPal exchange rates and it causes you pay double cost for conversion when you need to refund to someone or purchase something on anywhere using PayPal because this makes your USD balance always 0 and funds already are already converted into Rubles as soon as they are received..

How can i cancel this auto conversion ? I want the funds received in USD remain in USD till i withdraw. Thank you very much!!

@orient, in your Paypal account you should be able to add CURRENCY WALLET or something like that.

You click on the WALLET tab on top of the screen.

Next to Paypal balance you will see DETAILS - click it.

When that window pops click on MANAGE CURRENCIES.

The screen that comes should be pretty clear with how to add USD currency wallet.

Sure there are USD and GBP currencies besides the RUBLE in the wallet but even though that as soon as a fund is received either in USD or in GBP, it is converted into Ruble currency automatically without i do anything or anyhow attempt to withdraw.

Russian official currnecy is RUR. All incoming payments, will be converted in RUR.
To avoid that you can ask sender to make sure that receiver will get USD or EUR.

When someone wants to send funds, for example 100usd, they will see 2 fileds
You sent 100usd / Receiver get 6000rur
(1$ = 60rur for example)

Then sender must change the receivers RUR to USD, or whatever you want. But he must do it. if he dont - russian account will get RUR.

Just increase the limits on your account. This will allow you to cancel the auto-conversion of currencies

I had 2 russian PP accounts.
One auto converted all incoming currencies to ruble with choosing the primary currency having no efffect.
On the other i could choose my primary currency, there was no auto conversion after that.

On Russian account, when you receive payment at first time system will check.
If its RUR -> receive payment
If its something else -> hold the payment until receiver confirmation.

You will have to confirm, whether you want to receive this currency or you want to conver it automatically into RUR, now and in future.
And next time you wont be asked about it.

Increasing limits on Russian PP isnt really exist as a procedure. There is only verifying account with CC and Passport, which allows you to receive/send/withdraw more funds.
Non verified account can receive/send/withdraw something about 70k RUR / 1.2k$ per month and at 1 time. And lower 200k RUR / 3k$ at whole time. If more operations - be ready, that your account will be limited and you'll get a verification request.
