I would be surprised to see it go that low down. I expect it will hit around $1750 and then people will start to buy it again pushing the prices up once again

I don't think it will drop below $2300. You have to go all the way back to 2014 to see it drop more than 50%(it dropped 70% from 800 to 220). I would jump on it now, ride it to $3000, and sell it again assuming you aren't paying some incredible transaction fee to buy bitcoin.

Agreed with duff, imo unlikely to dip below $2000-2200

I think I am about to purchase some and perhaps ETH too. If you look at the graphs for the last week, they almost are identical. So to me it looks like a trend with all cryptos (but that is just basing on the graphs for BTC ETH LTC)

If anyone has been looking at the exchanges the last few days(I just looked at Coinbase), their website was down for 2 days when BTC fell from $3000 to $2300. Looks like GDAX was up though, so you should be using that or another exchange for trades during high volatility periods. Also, they seem to set a limit of $5000 per day withdrawals, so you have to be committed to keep most of your money in your GDAX account. https://www.reddit.com/r/CoinBase/co..._with_coinbase |

And that's why Id never leave my cryptocoin in the hands od any exchange.
Cold storage all the way for me thank you very much.
By the way looks like its the last chance to be buying in again cause its on its way back up - looks like its heading to $2500 shortly.

BIP 148 could cause some panic selling in August. It could also potentially be a liquidity squeeze since so many are pulling them off the exchanges and into cold storage. Hard to predict what will happen.
Part of me thinks the Miners are playing chicken an at the last second are going to say we accept Segwit while they have been accumulating and Bitcoin goes up to $4k.

Bitcoin is moving up again the last couple days. Will it hit $3000 again before dipping to $2500?

According to the price action lately, buyers are stronger than sellers but anything is possible. Probability of going higher from here is stronger than going down.

I think the cold storage has made BTC so rare. I mean btc being used daily out there has to be darn near none. I think that is why the price is skyrocketing and probably will continue as people store more as it is thought of as a good investment.
The uses of actual using BTC are hard to find.
what do you use btc for that you really need BTC to use it for?
not many things really. My favorite thing is virtual items but other than that it literally has no good use.

LBC is the only place BTC is being bought and sold for actual use.
you can see the prices there are at least 9-10% above spot regularly now and they use to be 4-5% not long ago

Correction: it is required for *online* illegal services.
You're right about cash and completely agree, but when shipping drugs across the world or paying for stolen credit cards or want to stay annon from the buyer/seller for a hit etc, bitcoin is the way to go.

Cash is still king for illegal things.

I wasn't arguing that bitcoin is the top choice for illegal activities.
But when thinking about the actual uses for bitcoin itself... illegal activities are on the top choice.
Hope I cleared myself up here

I disagree.
I can see Bitcoin being used by very large and legitimate corporations to make payments to cut down on the time and transaction fees involved if done by a regular bank.
its being employed that way more and more now that Japan has legitimized it as a form of payment.
