A lot of people hold it as an investment these days. I would imagine that a huge amount is held by large companies who are buying it to increase the price in the knowledge that BTC has a finite supply and will nearly always go up in value.

The only things that would make the price drop like a stone would be a massive hack on the BTC blockchain which just isn't going to happen or hacks on the BTC wallet companies which has happened but even after that has happened in the past the price has regained pretty fast.

is that really true? do you have a real example of that?

BTC price is about 9% over spot for daily users of coin right now. Yes cash and gold and chickens can be used to do illegal things too but BTC for online illegal actions is the most viable option for most and that is what sets its user value. I think BTC has 2 different values investor value around spot and and user value which is about 9% above spot.

BTC is like Pandora's Box, it cannot be undone once it has been released.

Hope I cleared myself up here
That was the argument 5 years ago with the Silk Road. Bitcoin is going mainstream.

yes we can agree to disagree. we have seen so many try to get rid of credit cards and cash and they just dont make it. BTC first off will never work with the 177 days confirmation time, imagine waiting for a confirmation at taco bell. Your tacos will be hella cold

you think I am the stupid one, when anyone with the sense of a snail would know that is an exaggeration for effect. I think everyone knows that BTC confirmations are taking a long time these days and I think everyone knows that long time is no where near 177 days. Stop being stupid!

I know you are very negative about BTC so stop posting in this thread. I don't need your negativity here. Go back to your FIAT currency.

Bitcoin transaction verification does take a tad long, but from the looks of it, Bitcoin will be for the higher end of the transaction spectrum - hence why its being referred to as Gold.

Then you have Litecoin which takes a few "minutes" to verify a transaction - this (IMO) will become the more mainstream version of cryptocurrency.

I think those two aforementioned coins have a big role going forward. Both also have a cap on the no. of coins ever, so value is likely to only rise.

Yes, it did.

Suddenly $1500 is not nearly as impossible as it used to be. I think it may even go down to $1,000 range.

Did you buy it yesterday when it was at $1800? Nice profit if you want to sell it today at $2350.

Was a good time to load up!

Price should hopefully be going up for at least the next couple months before the next issue comes up
