Can someone explain the technicality behind this and why is browsing necessary after you buy a brand new account.
Is 1 week enough or should it be 2 weeks?
I am planning on getting 4 accounts rolling, what Can I bid on the first weeks, months, that also won't get me bankrupt, considering I will do this on 4 accounts at the same time?

Browsing builds cookies, simple as that......1-2 weeks is more than enough.

I disagree with the above statements. Browsing is a waste of time, start listing used, low risk items and they will create their own cookies. Only noobs think browsing for a week is necessary lol...

Is it necessary?
NOPE!
Neither is using a real phone #, you can use Google Voice. But it's a hassle, and you have to call to get limits above 0.
Like everything in life, there's a tradeoff. More work now for greater rewards, or quick and easy but lower limits.

If you buy accounts it's worth taking the time to browse for 7 days. It helps builds those cookies and stops most annoying security features.

Oops, good point smile!
Of course if you're taking over an existing account you'll want to build cookies! Otherwise eBay will think you've stolen the account and that's a whole pain. You have to call them and they make you read a code to them then they ask about why you're accessing the account from another IP etc etc...It's not hard it's just annoying.
But if you're creating your own brand new account, the main advantage is a higher chance at higher selling limits.

I never really browse, and I never really have problems, but I agree if you buy an account you really should.
Other people think browsing is essential, and they're smart operators, so certainly it won't hurt you to do it.
I play a long term game. I turn them on, sell small stuff, run to the account limits if possible, I like to make a little money at first but don't worry as long as I don't lose a lot either, I build towards ever better and more profitable items over time, and in 3-4-6 months I can sell fairly lucrative stuff without an issue.

Thank you everyone for your help. I will start browsing today for around 5-7 days, I do not think it's necessary to do it for 2 weeks

I've never browsed for a second on any stealth accounts I've created. Never had any issues. As long as you don't use Google Voice for a phone, you'll still get average starting limits.
The main advantage of browsing on a new stealth from what I gather is that it helps increase the odds of higher starting limits.
Then again, I've never tested it. Maybe its another great myth of the forum perpetuated without any real evidence like some other things.
But it DEFINITELY helps if you buy an account!

I often let accounts sit for a really long time. Sometimes years and never have access to the phone numbers, etc.... so I will almost certainly get locked out from listing until I verify the number etc....Basically it takes 72 hours of logging in, browsing, letting it time out, logging in again, repeat the next two days and the security lock goes away. No phone verification etc.... Paypal can be similar yet tougher.
Point being is if you purchase an account or have stale accounts, browsing a few days at least can save a lot of hassle. Patience in this case is a virtue.

OP was referring specifically to creating his/her (first?) stealth account for personal use. So in that case, I think unless you're hoping for high starting limits, there's no advantage to browsing.

My apologies for the misleading info.
If you buy an account, you DEFINITELY need to do some browsing before logging in/taking over.
Thanks for correcting me yankee. My memory was WAY off!
