Default eBay return how to deal with?

So for my first sale the buyer claims one of the package was opened and 1 part is missing from the package and opened a return request. Anyway, I chose to offer to send an item just like it (in the actual return request) and I messaged buyer I would send another and buyer agrees.

However, the return request detail says something like this, "we have sent the buyer your offer. Buyer should respond soon." but buyer hasn't responded to it other than agreeing in a message.

Do they have to respond to the actual return request and accept my offer there before I send them the replacement?

haven't gotten a response since I offered the resolution yesterday.
At the time eBay showed an expected resolution on 8/4.
I am not sure if the ball is on their side now or whatever. Should I ship if they don't respond to it tomorrow?

Politely ask your buyer to respond to the return request so you can move forward with resolving his issue. You aren't obligated to ship anything if the buyer doesn't respond to the request, but you would be risking negative feedback since you've already agreed to ship a replacement through messages.

Get his contact info and call/text him if need be..

don't see a phone number and I already messages him like 3 times.
Would risk annoying him with more messages. I guess I can still ship it out if he does not respond. not an expensive item.

You can go to advanced search, and request contact info.

You'll be able to get the phone number of the buyer this way.

^^That's true. It's also on the eBay sales record a lot of the time. There's a setting in your account to require a phone number with all orders. I keep that setting enabled on most accounts mostly for filling out the customs form on international shipments, but it's also helpful in this kind of situation.

Because its SNAD he can force you to take the return regardless of your offer.

Evidently he has no interest in a replacement. You offered it, by not responding he's effectively declining your offer. You shouldn't ship a replacement until or unless you hear 'yes, please send it' or you risk losing the replacement as well.

If you don't accept the return, and 8/4 arrives, he can escalate it, and you will lose your money and item both.

That's the way this has worked for me in the past. :(

I use InkFrog. For every order, it automatically gives you the buyer's info, including phone number and email address
