Are you thinking of using a site like Virwox with PayPal?

If so, be aware this type of transaction is considered VERY high risk in PayPal's eyes. There is already a thread regarding this.

Npo, actually I was thinking of transferring the money directly to a second life avatar and then transferring it to a second avatar to cash out. This is not something I plan to do every time. I just think the PayPal account looks more convincing if things are spread around a little bit.

How are you transferring the linden dollars directly from PayPal to a second life avatar? Are you using an exchanger to do it?

It might be ok, so as long as it's not obvious to PayPal you are trying to buy virtual currency from a known site that does on a regular basis.

Last time I did it was over 7 years ago and I don't remember how I did it. I'm guessing that can't be done directly anymore?

Is Second Life still big and popular to do this?

There working on a new VR version now. I can't wait. I love exploring it, doing it in VR will be amazing!

Apparently, it still can be done. The following is pasted from the Linden Labs website.

Log in to your PayPal account.
Click the Gear Icon.
Click the Payments tab.
Click Manage pre-approved payments.
In the My preapproved payments section, if you have any existing billing agreements with Linden Research, select and cancel them.
Click Back to My Profile.
Update your information where needed (your PayPal agreement may silently fail if your Second Life account lacks a billing address and email).
Then create the PayPal agreement with Linden Lab.
