Default Preparing for the best time of the year

So, who is preparing and excited for the best time of the year for online retailers: Black Friday til New Years? I thought I would start a more upbeat thread to have a discussion in. What do you guys think this season will be like based on the past averages? What did some of you guys clear from BF til NYE?(you can release this at your own discretion or in an average)

Sales volume is going to depend widely on a variety of factors, not just the items you are selling, but the search critera (i.e. Cassini) used by eBay to display your listings.

Sure, most sales do tend to pick up across the platform from Black Friday until January, but not everyone sees a notable increase.

I doubt many sellers are willing to divulge their sales numbers for obvious reasons. I can say for myself, I see maybe 10-20% increase over average for the last two months of the year for the categories I sell in. Some niches, they might see a 100-500% increase in sales. Also, are you just talking about eBay, or other marketplaces?

I will hopefully see a 300% increase as I saw a 250% increase last year. Always looking to keep going up.

Q4 is going to be busy busy busy. I probably won't even have enough time to browse the forums like I usually do.

My sales run at about 80% of max from Nov 1 - Dec 31st, my biggest months are in Jan - March.

Thank goodness, because 90% of my years problems are in Nov and Dec!

Everyone seems to have the same rough increase expectations for the holidays. I've noticed about a 100 percent increase on those months if the items are hot over typical months.

The big worry this year, will be how much one day shipping guarantees affect Cassini.

On another note, literally lost a power selling account for zero reason. Logged on to see user not found. Time to build up the arsenal.

Hi, am new to this forum. Am sorry if this is the wrong thread to ask my question. Do I need to advertise my listings on eBay before I can get an order?
I am still new to selling on eBay. Thanks

Welcome to the forums - all the best as you master stealth

Advertise? Not really - the listings are self-advertising

I think that the eBay Stealth is going to be a great starter for you.
You'll be surprised at what you will learn by reading it.

To answer your question, the simple answer is no, you don't need to advertise it as if it's your own website. But yes you do if you want more customers later.

So read the stealth guide first.

I was excited about this a month ago. Since then, I've really upped my eBay game, and am selling more packages a day than I can even pack up and ship out. Would love to take advantage of theoretical holliday sales, but with the lack of time I find myself having nowadays for packing even existing orders, I'll probably miss out. I guess people would say that's a good problem to have.

The holidays are a blessing and a curse. A blessing to your wallet, but a curse to risk and crazy schedules of sheer volume. It seems you already have a niche that is going nicely!
