yes it is part of paypal. you use it along with a merchant account so that buyers enter their credit card directly on the ebay website then payflow carries over that info to your account instead of being directed off of their site.

I think the only advantage of payflow is it's free, unlike authorize.net

ebaykilla, if you sign up with payflow, eBay sees your real info on your merchant account.

^^^ You need a verified business paypal account & they 'hint' that there should be an exisiting merchant account.

are you 100% sure they see your merchant account info? i did not think that you input your details in payflow, rather use payflow's details in your checkoutout cart, ie cartmanager...please confirm. also...i thought you can sign up for payflow for free without a paypal account? greenbean...did you make an attempt to sign up for payflow linking it with your ebay seller account to get it for free? what i am trying to figure out is if signing up for payflow will avoid having to send in merchant account documents..and after sending in documents will they make you use payflow?

would I be required to use payflow if I fax in merchant documents? Or if approved for the merchant account, just click on cc options and start listing?

Why even bother with payflow..?Just use Auctiva Checkout with authorize.net and it will be just as seamless for the customer

JamesYaBaoy, not everyone uses authorize.net

I personally think this is an excellent idea. It's kind of like automatically making your account a merchant account instead of a paypal account without the manual verification and phone calls.

I'd like to see some more research into this.

Can someone give me a little help setting up a merchant account on Ebay. I keep getting suspended with paypal and would like to avoid them entirely, if possible. I posted in this thread because I see from your postings you guys know the ropes. With a 5 minute phone conversation, I can tell you what I am trying to do. I don't mind paying for help but it has to be in my budget. You could probably tell me what to do and who to sign up with within a few minutes. Please PM me how to get in touch with you.Thanks.
