Default Is paypal Mandatory for the high risk category of Used Laptops?

I posted this question on the end of another thread but this is important to me if anybody knows the answer.

If I sell used laptops is it possible to not offer Paypal and just use my Merchant account or just use MoneyBookers?. Is paypal mandatory. Is it required for this category of laptops by Ebay?

The high risk of selling used laptops is mostly to sellers. There's even some journalist who did a news report and he couldn't sell his laptop. He tried 3 times and each time he got a scammer.

I haven't had any real trouble with the buyers being real and actually paying via paypal. My trouble has been collecting the funds from paypal, thus I would like to circumvent them entirely. so the question remains Can I sell laptops on Ebay and use another payment option or is Paypal absolutely required to be an option for checkout?

I swear I read it somewhere in Ebay...but than the other day I went in and could not find it anywhere. From what I read you can indicate 'merchant account", but you need to through Ebay Payflow or something... Things are changing I think.

Thanks Lyda for taking the time . I guess Im just going to have to try it. Now the question is do I do it under my name or someone elses? Does anyone know if MoneyBookers shares ss#'s with Ebay? I would hate to add a MoneyBooker account and then have my Ebay account suspended because of it. And if I still have to use Paypal can I refund there payment and tell them to use Moneybookers or the merchant account?

Yes, you can do it technically... but I wouldn't recommend because Paypal will catch that pretty soon.

I have Moneybookers old account, but I don't know how safe it really is to use with Ebay if you have real info there. We need to do some research on it... An option is email Moneybookers and ask what personal info of yours if any they would share with Ebay.
