Default Thoughts on BTC price and Futures for DEC-JAN

Here is what I'm thinking...

The price of BTC hasn't moved much since futures started. The price of Alt-Coins have mooned and I'd be willing to bet its not all coming in from fiat.

I'm thinking this might be a set up for the people taking short positions. One sure way to show these people not to short Bitcoin would be to tare their whole face off straight out the gate.

People are making a ton of money on alts right now and bitcoin is looking weak. A good portion of these futures contracts are up sometime in January (at least thats what I read yesterday or the day before that).

If the Bitcoin wales slowly move into alts and are taking gains there, I believe there is a good possibility they will all move back into BTC just before these initial contracts are up to kill all the short positions.

I havent done the research yet to see when the majority of the contracts are up but as soon as I get some time its on my list of things to do.

If anyone reads anything about it and could post a link I'd appreciate it.

EDIT: The Volume in the link below posted by duffrageous is the 24hr vol. Yesterday it said 1,400+.... The high and low is 24hr high and low. Settlement is what CBOE sets the 24hr price at based on 24hr high and low..

3/14 H8

CME will have their own futures on Monday.

I traded for alts when BTC went down to 13k in a panic. I got burned when it went back to 17k, but I still held because I didn't want to bother with all the trading. Of course, I should have traded for LTC and then ETH, but that would have been too easy. I did a small trade on XRP on Saturday, but I sold it when it hit a wall at 1800 Sat before going back to 1500. I was just too lazy to buy back in on the dip. You can either hold BTC long-term, trade for USDT, or trade for alts and then USDT before trading back to BTC on the rebound. Huge gains if you time it right.

The Volume in the link above posted by duffrageous is the 24hr vol. Yesterday it said 1,400+.... The high and low is 24hr high and low. Settlement is what CBOE sets the 24hr price at based on 24hr high and low.. They symbol XBT/F8: XBT = Bitcoin futures and F8 = month of January. I asked around yesterday and was told that its possible to set up a Ameritrade account and put in that symbol to see the total volume of long and short positions for XBT/F8.

The way the price of Alt-coins is looking right now it'd be a good idea to set up a Ameritrade account anyway to buy some Nvidia and AMD stock... NASDAQ: NVDA NASDAQ: AMD Soon Graphic cards will be impossible to get... There is a 1 card limit on Newegg now... which means Nvidia and AMD will be bankin' again in 2018... Also Nvidia came out with a $3,000 GPU called the Titan V. Here is a link: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/titan/titan-v/

It show cases their new Volta technology.... This is just a prediction but I think its possible that Nvidia will start or already has people working on drivers for Crypto mining (AMD already did this). Combine a blockchain driver with that Titan V and you might have something as good as a ASIC for mining....

AMD came out with a blockchain driver and the VEGA 54 & 64 GPU (VEGA 64 = $650.... The VEGA 64 gets 2,000+ hashes per second on the Cryptonite algo (Monero)... While my $500 Nvidia GTX 1070's gets 700 hashes per second on the same algo.... AMD stock is still cheap right now compared to Nvidia.

I really am not worried about the CBOE CMOE futures because they are settled in cash. Its basically Wall Street acting like Vegas and betting on a sports game. All the price discovery comes on the exchanges.

Futures to Bitcoin are like CFD trading to stock/shares.

The money doesn't enter Bitcoin, their just hedging bets it would rise/fall.

However one thing that does work in Bitcoins favour, is the publicity and exposure.
